Chess is Considered for Inclusion into the Olympic Games
Chess is considered for inclusion into the Olympic Games, according to the statement by FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. Chess is considered a sport in 155 counties and was part of the University games, Pan-asian and Pan-american games.
According to FIDE President, chess can be part of the Winter Olympics and fill the gap between morning and evening events.
AGON CEO Ilya Merenzon said: If chess becomes part of the Olympics, commercialization of chess is going to be transformed: since chess is an excellent way for brand exposure, it's likely to become a phenomenal platform for international brands.
